While Johnny Cochran seized much of the attention and fame for his “If the gloves don’t fit, you must acquit” speech during the O.J. Simpson trial, Robert L. Shapiro is considered to be one of the main masterminds behind O.J. being victorious in that trial and getting an acquittal. Currently, Robert Shapiro is a partner in the Christensen, Miller, Fink, Jacobs, Glaser, Weil & Shapiro firm, which boasts about 120 lawyers in all. These lawyers focus on everything from celebrity trials to corporate trials to trials that test the very legal system of this country. In addition to working trials, Robert L. Shapiro has also written a book, titled “Misconception,” that explains many examples in which he has tested the legal system and changed the way that it works.

Shapiro Explains O.J. Trial

Following the O.J. Simpson trial, O.J., along with his band of lawyers, caught a lot of flak from the media, which believed that O.J. had literally “gotten away with murder” simply because he had enough money to pay for the best lawyers in the business. Robert L. Shapiro was responsible for writing numerous articles on the O.J. Simpson trial that later explained what it was like to work the trial and why he personally felt as though the final ruling was fair and just for all those involved.

Shapiro and Corporations

He may be best known for working the O.J. Simpson trial, but Robert L. Shapiro is probably best known for all of the work that he has done with big corporations who often pay him hefty sums of money to work on legal cases for them. Most notably, he has worked with Mobil Oil, Lawrence Engineering, and Northrop on legal cases that they have each battled. Shapiro received his law degree from Loyola University and is currently serving as a member of the California bar.
