The name Marsha Clark evokes a whole sense of remembrance and nostalgia for those people who are familiar with the O.J. Simpson trial of the 1990s. As a member of the District Attorney’s office, which she joined in 1981, Marsha Clark spearheaded the group attempting to convict O.J. Simpson in the murder against his ex-wife Nicole and her boyfriend. In many ways, Marsha Clark, who eventually went on to write the book “Without A Doubt” about the trial, brought out the most appealing aspects of the trial and made it one of the most watched trials ever on television. Marsha Clark and the O.J. TrialThough Marsha Clark was experienced in the Special Trials Unit of the D.A.’s office and had handled many trials over her life as a lawyer, the O.J. Simpson trial was most important to her career, because it put her onto the national stage for all to see! Clark was partly responsible for making O.J. into the calculated figure that he appeared to be at times, as she weaved her words to express her pure dislike for the man. She exposed how O.J. Simpson had beaten his wife before and how he was the perfect candidate for such a crime. At one point during the case, when the judge presiding over it requested that a night court be held to allow a witness, Clark pleaded with him to cancel such a decision because she was a single-mother and had to take care of her kids at night. For this, she was revered by single mothers everywhere! Marsha Clark Post-O.J.Today, Marsha Clark has shied away from the public spotlight. After the O.J. Simpson trial, she relieved herself of her duties at the District Attorney’s office, received a large advance for her eventual book, and tried moving on with her life. Though Clark served on many, many trials over the course of her career, her legacy may always be linked to O.J. and his trial of the century. |
