Located at 225 Bush Street in San Francisco, California, the San Francisco Trail Lawyer Association, or SFTLA for short, boasts over six hundred members and works diligently to provide benefits and services to members.

History of San Francisco Trial Lawyer Association

Specifically, the San Francisco Trial Lawyer Association serves the needs of the plaintiff’s bar of the region of San Francisco. Generally, the SFTLA serves as the watchperson and spokesperson of all lawyers of the San Francisco region, offering lawyers everything from group health plans to discounted rates on conference calling to many other benefits that San Francisco lawyers enjoy as a result of the work of the SFTLA.



Goals of the SFTLA

The main goal of the SFTLA is to provide legal education to the lawyers of San Francisco, which includes, but is not limited to, organizing conferences of the basis of law, representing the betterment of lawyers in the area, and helping to speak out against those that oppose the plaintiff’s bar of San Francisco. Other duties of the SFTLA include: Sponsoring events held throughout the year that unite lawyers of both Bench and local legislature status to assist in the growth and development of law; Working with smaller law firms to improve the business aspects of said firms; Organizing the San Francisco Trail Lawyer Association Women’s Caucus, a division of the SFTLA that presents aspects of the female trial lawyer; and, designing a Community Involvement Committee, with community projects and service being a main concern of this aspect of the SFTLA.

Potential Members of the SFTLA

Potential members of the San Francisco Trial Lawyer Association should be prepared to unite under the rules and regulations of the plaintiff’s bar in said districts and should currently practice law in the San Francisco region. Further, the San Francisco Trial Lawyer Association accepts all members regardless of age, race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, ethnicity, or religion.
